An abandoned air raid shelter in West Bridgford has been restored, offering local school children a unique way to learn about the conflict. Once capable of sheltering around 100 community members, the site—now equipped with improved ventilation, educational displays, and safe access—has been transformed through a project by Nottingham Trent University and Rushcliffe Borough Council, reconnecting the community with its historical heritage.
